Salary: Competitive, based on experience. Prior lead roofing construction experience is necessary.

Compensation : Depends on experience

We’re seeking a reliable, experienced Lead Roofer to oversee on-site roofing operations for residential and specialty projects, including steep-slope and complex structures. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused, responsible for managing the crew, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality workmanship. The Lead Roofer will report directly to the Foreman and support project execution from start to finish.

Crew Over site:

• Direct daily tasks and workflow for roofing crew
• Ensure team stays on schedule and follows installation plans
• Communicate progress and issues to the Foreman regularly
• Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols
• Conduct daily safety checks and toolbox talks
• Monitor use of PPE and fall protection systems

Installation Leadership:

• Lead hands-on installation of roofing systems per manufacturer specs (e.g., CertainTeed steep-slope standards)
• Adapt techniques for specialty structures
• Ensure proper underlayment, flashing, and ventilation practices

Site Coordination:

• Manage material staging and site cleanliness
• Identify and report unforeseen conditions (e.g., wood rot, framing issues)
• Coordinate with subcontractors or suppliers as needed
• Track daily labor and progress
• Submit updates, photos, and notes to Foreman
• Assist with change orders and client communication when requested

Documentation & Reporting:

• Track daily labor and progress

Responsibilities:

• Follow safety guidelines.
• Assist technicians and foreman in removing, installing, and repairing roofing systems.
• Execute tasks to increase roofing crew efficiency.
• Prepare roof surfaces, remove debris, and trim materials.
• Cover roofs and exterior walls using various materials.

Requirements:

• Physical fitness for lifting heavy materials.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols.
• Can work at heights
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Be able to work as a team with a positive attitude and in the spirit of unity.
• 3+ years of roofing experience, including steep-slope systems
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Familiarity with safety protocols and jobsite compliance
• Ability to read plans and follow technical specifications
• Experience with specialty structures (preferred but not required)
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
