Food Science Research & Quality Laboratory in Saint Louis dedicated to ensuring the safety and integrity of global food products. In this 12-month on-site role, you will apply rigorous aseptic techniques and microbiological methodologies to analyze food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. As an
External Technician of Quality , you will be a key contributor to pathogen detection and indicator organism testing, working within a goal-oriented team where accuracy and efficiency are paramount. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Microbiology or Life Sciences graduate to gain hands-on experience in a professional laboratory following ISO 17025 and GLP standards.

responsibilities:
- Analytical Testing: Prepare and analyze various sample matrices for pathogens, indicator organisms, probiotics, and other microbes using approved methodologies.
- Aseptic Technique: Maintain the highest standards of aseptic technique in all lab activities to prevent contamination and ensure result integrity.
- Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document all sample preparations, quality control measures, and analytical activities in alignment with laboratory standards.
- Result Interpretation: Perform testing methods with precision and read/interpret results to ensure food safety compliance.
- Continuous Growth: Proactively complete required training to progress toward more complex analytical tasks and laboratory responsibilities.
qualifications:
Required: - Education: B.S. in Microbiology, Biology, or a related Life Science field.
- Technical Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of aseptic techniques and basic microbiological principles.
- Physical Requirements: Full manual dexterity for precise testing; ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; color vision and depth perception are necessary for reading test results.
- Location: Must be local to the Saint Louis area.
Preferred: - Experience: 1+ years of laboratory experience in a commercial food testing or analytical laboratory.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 17025 standards or Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Industry Skills: General experience in microbiological testing (Pathogen, Bacteria, and Food Science).
