Caregiver (Dementia Care ) We are seeking compassionate, reliable caregivers to provide attentive care for a client with dementia who is at risk for elopement (wandering). The ideal candidate understands the importance of supervision, redirection, and maintaining a calm, structured environment. Schedule Needs Weekdays: * 5:00 PM – 9:00 AM (overnight)May be split into two shifts: *

5:00 PM – 1:00 AM

Weekends (Saturday 9:00 AM – Monday 9:00 AM):May be split into four 12-hour shifts: * Saturday 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM * Saturday 9:00 PM – Sunday 9:00 AM * Sunday 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM * Sunday 9:00 PM – Monday 9:00 AM Responsibilities * Provide continuous supervision to ensure client safety due to wandering/elopement risk * Assist client with ambulation and mobility inside and outside the home (appointments, walks, etc.) * Redirect and de-escalate confusion, agitation, or exit-seeking behaviors * Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed, following dietary guidelines * Perform light housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, tidying common areas) * Shop for groceries or accompany client when appropriate * Maintain a structured, calm environment to reduce confusion * Communicate effectively with family members, nurses, and healthcare providers * Observe and document changes in condition, behaviors, or mood * Report unusual incidents immediately * Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies Requirements * Dementia care experience strongly preferred * Experience working with clients who are an elopement/wandering risk preferred * Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required * Patience, compassion, and a calm demeanor * Strong redirection and de-escalation skills * Willingness to follow care plans and safety protocols * Knowledge of housekeeping and meal preparation with attention to dietary needs * Excellent communication and time management skills * Physical stamina to assist with mobility and overnight supervision We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws
