Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington has a great opportunity for a full-time experienced Maintenance Technician.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Director of Environment of Care, performs a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, test and inspections of hospital equipment, preventive maintenance and various janitorial duties.

Our Maintenance Technician responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Perform all tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, HVAC and tests and inspections of the facility.
  • Clean and change air filters as required through the preventive maintenance program.
  • Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the facility.
  • Maintain facility grounds in a neat and attractive appearance.
  • Maintain all light fixtures in good working condition and change light bulbs as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance electrical test as well as the removal, installation and repair of all mechanical/electrical equipment with direct supervision of a supervisor.
  • Perform various janitorial duties if needed.
  • Take appropriate precautions ensuring proper tag out and lock out procedures when working on equipment.
  • Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and Safety/Risk Management Plans, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventive environment.
  • Use time constructively and in an organized manner.
  • Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
  • Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.

Qualified candidates for Maintenance Technician should possess the following:

Education:  High school graduate or equivalent preferred; two (2) years of technical or trade school preferred.
Experience:  Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment; ensuring proper safety precautions. Maintenance experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred.
Licensure:  N/A
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of training in BLS and Handle with Care within 30 days of employment. Must be available to attend a full week of hospital orientation upon hire.

Salary: $20- $25 per hour
