The Behavioral Health Coordinator (BHC) plans, organizes and supervises a program or team, which includes direct client care, indirect client care and/or administrative coordination and support of behavioral health and related activities. Incumbents receive direction from a Manager II or a higher-level department administrator. Incumbents typically supervise, directly or through leadership, professional, para-professional and support staff; and are responsible for guiding, advising, consulting, and coordinating work in a specific program area. Although specific duties may vary depending on the job location, the focus of duties is on the coordination and supervision of a program and/or staff; incumbents are expected, however, to have clinical or professional expertise in a behavioral health field. Positions in this classification are typically located in behavioral health or substance use disorder sites.

Note: The eligible list generated from this recruitment may be used to fill future extra-help, part-time and full-time vacancies throughout Stanislaus County.
Incumbents may also be subject to overtime, standby, callback, weekend, holiday and shift assignments as identified in their MOU (Memorandum of Understanding).

How many years of experience performing duties comparable to the Stanislaus County Behavioral Health Specialist II or a Behavioral Health Advocate do you have?
Up to one (1) year of work experience may be substituted with graduate work in psychology, social work, counseling, or psychiatric nursing. Have you attached a copy of your transcripts and/or degree?
Are you SUD certified or registered with a State approved Substance Use Disorder organization, and have attached proof?
